How does a vacuum work?
Modern vacuum cleaners create suction using a motor and a fan. Dirt is sucked up through a pipe and goes through a filter, then it sits in a container to be emptied. Earlier model vacuums used a centrifugal fan to create a partial suction. Although they were a huge success when they were invented, they were a lot less effective than modern day vacuums. |
